Hi, i’m michelle.

Education + Experience = Dating Coach.

EDUCATION

I earned my bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of St. Thomas in 2008 and my master’s degree in Social Work from the University of St. Thomas/College of St. Catherine in 2012. I am currently a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I love the one-on-one nature of my work and have a private practice where I primarily support adults and couples navigating relationship challenges. Over the years, I’ve worked with adolescents and adults struggling with self-harm, suicidality, substance use, anger management, trauma, attachment issues, and domestic abuse.

My therapeutic philosophy is rooted in the belief that if you’re reacting or functioning in ways that are causing distress, we must look back to understand how those patterns developed—and begin the healing process from there. I specialize in attachment and trauma.

EXPERIENCE

I’ve always been told I have high social intelligence, defined as "the capacity to know oneself and to know others." Social intelligence develops through real-life experience, learning from both successes and failures in social settings. It’s often referred to as "tact," "common sense," or "street smarts."

Several years ago, a friend convinced me to try speed dating, and it turned out to be exactly what I expected. I met a variety of men, one who only worked and worked out, one living in a group home, and one with a Band-Aid on his nose. As I sat through each conversation, all I wanted to do was offer some feedback and help. I could see that beneath the surface, each of them was struggling with a lack of confidence, awareness, or experience.

I’ve been in long-term relationships, short flings, and on just about every dating app. I’ve seen what’s out there and I truly believe there is someone for everyone.
